Throughout life we all acquire wounds; whether they be physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual, they need to be healed and brought into the light of Christ. A large portion of Jesus' earthly ministry was healing ministry, as well as for the Apostles: "Then he summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness" (Matthew 10:1). But that healing didn't just stop once Jesus ascended into heaven. Through the Sacraments and prayer, Jesus continues to give us the avenue to receive healing from Him.
This is what our healing night is about: we provide a place to start to receive that healing. Through Eucharistic Adoration, worship, group prayer and prayer teams and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we create opportunities for God to heal us here and now.
Along with opportunities for worship and prayer teams, free childcare is provided. Bilingual prayer teams are also available for those who wished to be prayed with in Spanish.
We begin each night with a few worship songs and then expose the Blessed Sacrament. After exposition, our leader Curtis gives a short reflection and walks us through corporate prayer. Corporate prayer is where Curtis will list different wounds that have come to his team in prayer for this night specifically, and we pray for each other who may be suffering with those wounds. He then walks us through renouncing any lies that may be holding us back from receiving the healing that the Lord wants to give to us. The rest of the night is worship and prayer teams. Throughout the Church we will have teams of trained prayer ministers who will pray with us through our wounds or things that are troubling us. Then we will end with Benediction.
The important thing to remember is none of this is done without the Lord. Any word, prayer, healing, etc is only done with and through the Lord. Our ministry is helping us connect with the Lord. This night is about an authentic connection to God through these avenues.Curtis Wales: Each of our nights is led by Curtis Wales.
